Police ID 77-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed By Maryland Driver

Police say that a 77-year-old man was struck and killed by a driver while walking along the roadway in Fort Washington.

Foday Salim has been identified as the person who was hit by a sedan at around 7 a.m. on Thursday morning in the 6800 block of Bock Road, according to a Prince George's County Police Department spokesperson, who said that for unknown reasons, he was struck in the roadway.

The Fort Washington resident was found unresponsive when first responders arrived, and he was rushed to an area hospital, where Salim was later pronounced dead. 

Investigators noted that the driver remained at the scene after striking Salim.

The circumstances surrounding the events before the fatal strike are now being investigated.
